Miss Marley was born September 2017.  She is number six in our family and officially completes our brood. With her siblings, Mad-12, Soph-10, and Easy E-8, she is the youngest by a lot! She was welcomed into the world the same day Grandma was buried and it was raining. She is the first one I went into labor on my own with and with no family history of any complications, the first of our family to ever have surgery... she has a health chart that is miles long! She was sweet from the start. It took a few minutes to see it, but there amid the chaos and joy of baby number 4 was a greenish yellow right arm that was cold to touch.
Sometime in utero a trauma happened that caused a vascular blockage impeding the blood flow to her outer skin tissue and it died. When she was born out of the warm amniotic fluid that she had been chillin in, her forearm and hand swelled and hardened looking like a chemical burn. On Day five she went into surgery to remove all the necrotic skin tissue. She had a total of seven procedures/ surgery to remove the tissues and ultimately skin graft new tissue from the skin on her right thigh. Her arm was saved and we got to take her home on the 29th day. It was the craziest thing I had ever been through let alone her side of things. She is or at least was the youngest person to have a nerve block in the neck and has a paper out there written about it. Our woods are long and prognosis is grim for the limb, but she is a rockstar personality already and has a purpose, I can feel it.
Very well written Amy
